Ash Wednesday, as we gathered in the sanctuary to worship at the beginning of lent with the sign of the cross made with ashes, there were snowflakes in the air. They were modest and evanescent but still there in the chilled air. Snowflakes on Ash Wednesday are not common in middle Tennessee but their association with beginning of the transit season from wilderness to the light of Easter was fitting and a joy.

Bowling Pins Meet PGUMC Ladies
Five ladies (Nikki, Josie, Emi, Alorra, and Layla) from the Senior High and Young Adults Sunday School Classes and Pastor Sharon met at the Tullahoma bowling alley to face the hordes of 10 pins. Multiple styles of ball delivery were demonstrated, strikes were seen (just a few but at least one turkey minus one), spares also, but the most common roll were gutter clearers. Scores of more than 200 were recorded (for a three person team). Lots of grins, laughter, and joy but the in the balance it was the pins that were victorious.
